Text to binary converter
Type in either box and the other one follows as you type.
How it works
Computers store text as numbers. Here each character becomes its UTF-8 bytes, and each byte is written as eight bits: “H” is 72, which is 01001000.
Plain English letters take one byte. Accented letters like “é” take two, and an emoji takes four, which is why they come out longer. Converters that skip UTF-8 break on them; this one does not.
When reading binary back, bytes may be separated by spaces or line breaks, and missing leading zeros are fine: 1001000 reads as 01001000.
